Wings and Wheels Festival

The third annual Wings and Wheels Festival is right around the corner! The event commemorates the first non-stop flight across the Pacific in October of 1931; beginning near Misawa Japan and ending near Fancher Heights of East Wenatchee.

Over the past years, the festival has grown to become a true Community event. Beginning on September 29th and continuing through October 2nd, the Festival will be held at theEastmont Community Park. Activities include a motorcycle rally and parade, two-day car show, the Cossacks Motorcycle Stunt Group, food and craft vendors, carnival, as well as ongoing entertainment including a big band dance and an open-air concert. With a special emphasis on Saturday, Children's day, enjoy a day at the park with a variety of activities that include a petting zoo, face painting, arts & crafts and much more!

Genext has agreed to donate Frisbees to be included in the “goodie bags” given to all participants of the Car and Motorcycle Show. Be on the lookout for white Frisbees flying around with the Genext logo!

March of Dimes Fundraiser Was A Success

Genext helps to fight birth defects and raises $725 for the March of Dimes. The annual Jail & Bail fundraising event took place on August 31st at the Wenatchee Valley Mall. While all “pretend”, a Genext team member was read the charges against them, was taken to jail, had a mug shot taken and was put behind bars! Each jailbird was given one-hour to call and raise money to make bail.

All money raised will help fund important research, local programs and education to improve the health of Washington's babies and families. We appreciate the support of everyone who donated on behalf of Genext. The Jail & Bail Wenatchee program was a successful event that will help a great cause, helping March of Dimes save babies from premature birth.

Genext is participating in the 2005 Wenatchee Festival of Trees. The annual event helps celebrate the beauty of the holiday season by bringing the community together and raising awareness for the arts. As a contributing sponsor, Genext will be responsible for the design and decoration of a 6 to 7-foot tree. The theme for this years Festival is “Traditions to Remember.”

We need your help in generating a design concept for our tree under the Festival theme “Traditions to Remember”. Genext will choose one lucky winner with the best idea and use it as blueprint for the tree design. Please submit your ideas to Kristin McCormick. Include your overall theme as well as any other ideas about the décor of the tree. Please be as descriptive as possible, the better we understand your idea the easier it will be to implement.

The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate. Please have all ideas submitted by: October 7th.

Turn up the volume…

Is that another Genext commercial? Genext recently launched an aggressive campaign to get back on the airwaves. Expect a Genext radio ad to broadcast every half hour over a mix of 11 local stations. The objective of this massive radio campaign is to bring greater attention to area Fiber Networks!

The Chelan PUD has reached momentous milestones, installing over 10,000 drops of Fiber to business and residents in Chelan County. There are only 3,000 customers currently utilizing the fiber access networks. There is a long list of reasons why fiber is better than other available broadband solutions but we wish not to bore you with all the statistics.

Ok, we do have a few you gotta be excited about. Fiber is easily the fastest Internet connection in the region, quicker than Dialup, DSL, Wireless or Cable. It is always on; when your computer is on, so is your Internet Access. Fiber is faster, more reliable and has enough bandwidth to download large images at lightening speed. And very, very soon , Genext will be launching Fiber television. The Builder's News is a monthly publication for members of the North Central Home Builder's Association representing over 425 companies serving the construction industry throughout Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties in Washington Sate.

Genext joined the NCHBA over three years ago based on the organization's dedication to the community. Compelled to take action against excessive regulation and defend affordable housing initiatives, Genext actively utilizes their membership; believing in the Associations ability to make a difference that benefits our local economy. Genext Welcomes Carla Pierson

Innovative technologies coupled with exceptional customer service require efficient leadership, project management and process excellence. To this effect, we're pleased to announce that Ms. Carla Pierson has accepted the position of Networks & Services Coordinator at Genext.

Ms. Pierson brings years of telecommunication industry experience to the team. Directly responsible for regional network expansion and support projects for companies such as SBC and Verizon. She combines regimented efficiencies with real-world variables and exceptional interpersonal communication skills to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Carla will be getting acquainted with our Chelan County Fiber Television Project as well as several technology advancements set to launch in 2006. We're happy to welcome Carla to the team and are excited for her energy and team spirit!
